About Danny Wilson

Danny Wilson, President & CEO of Light Media has over 28 years of radio, television, media marketing and promotions expertise. Danny served as an announcer at a New Orleans, Louisiana radio station acquired by Clear Channel. He expanded his communications knowledge by working as an apprentice at the local public television station, where he took on the role of a camera operator and produced one-hour segments for a weekly show. Danny later accepted a position as camera operator at KTCA, television station in St. Paul, Minnesota; and then became Assistant Program Director/Announcer at WRNB in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Following his stint at WRNB, Danny served as an Event Producer with the Contemporary Group, an event-marketing firm based in St. Louis, Missouri. Danny promoted the CBS College Tour (providing programming to college students at 45 universities across the United States).

Danny served Entertainment Marketing in Chicago, Illinois as lead market manager, whose major client was Anheuser Busch, Budweiser Superfest Tour, working and forming relationships with major recording artists such as Jay-Z, P.Diddy, LL Cool J, Mary J. Blige, Boyz II Men, Pattie LaBelle and Dru Hill, as well as Bones, Thugs and Harmony, New Edition, BlackStreet, Keith Sweat, After 7, Frankie Beverley and Maze, and Montell Jordan. Danny served as president and Chief Executive Officer of Dominique’s World Productions, Inc., developing and executing marketing programs for Fortune 500 corporations as well as providing consulting services and executing tour agendas for music and entertainment companies.

In his capacity of President of Light Media, Danny has produced, marketed and distributed more than 3000 hours of audio and video content, published two magazines, acquired, launched and re-programmed 3 radio stations as well as produced, marketed and distributed over 300 albums, in partnership with Universal Music Group and TheOrchard, including earning the honor of being a Grammy-nominee. Danny earned a degree, with honors, in Theology from Luther Rice Seminary (Atlanta, GA).
